The Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Senior Team ended their jet-packing global exhibition forays today with a 3-0 loss away to Russia at the Kaliningrad Arena in Kaliningrad. The Soca Warriors were, predictably, outplayed by a team perched 68 places higher on the Fifa rankings at 35. But to the relief of Trinidad and Tobago football fans—and, quite possibly, the host nation and match agent as well—it was not a humiliation.

Senator David Nakhid, parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, described the non-payment of match fees for Trinidad and Tobago Men’s and Women’s National Senior Team players as “unacceptable” and urged the membership of the local football body to intervene.

SSFL Appeals Committee uphold Scarborough’s relegation; embattled Seepersad requests promotion

Scarborough Secondary failed to convince the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Appeals Committee that they were unfairly sanctioned for using an unauthorised player, midfielder Johan Elliot, in their final game of the 2025 Premier Division season against San Juan North Secondary. And, as a result, the “Blue Marlins” will be relegated. The Appeals Committee ruling was made on 12 February 2026 and relayed to the two schools after Carnival.
