What was your first job as a journalist?
Intern at the UK documentary production company.

How is social media changing news?
It's both the main source of news consumption online, and for many journalist the starting point (if not main source) for news gathering.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Aspiring journalist Whitney Hudson in 'It's Not Right But It's Okay' ...her evidence gathering skills are iconic.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means one day you'll inevitably have to cover a breaking news story at a super inconvenient time, like on your holiday. But it's worth it

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Via email, before 10am.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Burli, Adobe Audition and many, many different types of microphones and radio studio equipment
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram, but I'm on Twitter every day.
Who do you wish followed you?
Oprah.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I love telling stories.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did not. However, I was the editor-in-chief of my collage newspaper, The Belltower at the University of Dubuque.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I covered the 70th Cannes Film Festival in 2017. I didn't feel ready at the time, but I had to trust I could do it. My best career move yet.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Specialise in a topic you're passionate about. This job requires a lot of long hours & weekend work, it helps to like your subject-matter.
When's the best time to pitch you?
In the mornings, before 10 am.

best films for Netflix and Chill... emphasis on the chill
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
anything with the term 'celebrity' very loosely used
What's your favorite drink?
Safe answer: Coconut milk latte
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Taking a walk in the park, cooking or sampling the products at a new wine bar.
