Commonwealth champion Duncan Scott is fully concentrated on European Championships success and has come down from "cloud nine" following his record-breaking feats at the Gold Coast Games. The 21-year-old became Scotland most decorated athlete at a single Commonwealth Games, with six medals. Scott is now preparing for the Europeans held in August in Glasgow. "It took me a bit of time, but now I'm well and truly into European focus", Scott told BBC Scotland.

Kris Doolan insists Partick Thistle's board are right to stand by manager Alan Archibald, despite the club's Scottish Premiership relegation. Thistle confirmed on Wednesday that Archibald, 40, will remain in the post he has held since January 2013. Striker Doolan, a Jags player for nine years, is backing the former Thistle defender to succeed. "He [Archibald] knows everybody at the club, he has great working relations with everyone," Doolan said.

The International Association of Athletics Federations has had a "wake up call" according to Scottish Athletics chief executive Mark Munro, after the governing body changed its rules in a bid to stop women with high testosterone levels gaining a competitive advantage. Some athletes will have to take medication to race in track events from 400m up to the mile from November.
