As a young journalist, I feel that social media and I have grown up together. For better or for worse, news is faster and more accessible.

The better question would be “What doesn’t it mean to be a journalist?”

Why did you become a journalist?
I love writing, I love music, I write songs, so why not write about them?
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Regretfully, I did not.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
If you know me, you know I’m indecisive. One of my favourites, though, is an interview of my mother that I turned in for a school project.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
We’re all aspiring journalists, darling. Keep writing, ask for what you want, and be honest.

I got asked to review an Ed Sheeran concert— it was my first stadium concert ever!

All my pitches have been wonderful.

Tea. Root beer. Fresh lemonade. Cream soda. Water. Iced tea. Anything that isn’t coffee.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That it’s “soft...” is that supposed to be an insult? The abstract nature of music is what provides its beauty.
