What was your first job as a journalist?
In Los Angeles at a free weekly newspaper.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! I learned to type on a typewriter in high school. I'm grateful for that summer class so I don't have to "hunt and pick" the keyboard.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It's a great responsibility. In an era of social media influencers, journalists are the original influencers.

Microsoft suite

I love to dig deep and tell a story, elevate the unique.

No, we did not have one.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write, write, write and read, read, read! Find your voice.

Either mornings or after 1 pm.

Any I feel compelled to do!
What's your favorite drink?
I'll try anything, I'm game, but I have to admit I love what a clever mixologist is doing with zero-spirit cocktails.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In Pilates Reformer classes!

The New York Times, New York Magazine, any European or British home design magazine.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
They likely don't realize the time and effort I put into writing and researching a piece. It's all in the details.
