Dickinson joins national America250 events with campus celebrations. Dickinson College will participate in two national America250 initiatives this July, joining institutions across the country in marking the nation’s 250th anniversary. From July 1–9, Dickinson will illuminate Old West in red, white and blue as part of “Light to Unite,” a nationwide effort to symbolize unity and shared history. How Dickinson becomes a family tradition—and why legacy students and their parents wouldn’t have it any other way by Tony Moore Heather Kurey ’98 was in the hospital, giving birth to her daughter Marley, when a Dickinson alum came to spend the night with her. Not a family member. A friend from college—the kind of friend Dickinson tends to create. Marley ’27 is now a junior at Dickinson, a member of the track and field team and a Dickinsonian in her own right. Her dad, Bryan ’98, is also an alum.

Featured Faculty George Allan, professor emeritus of philosophy, received the Founder’s Medal from the Metaphysical Society of America in recognition of a lifetime of distinguished and innovative contributions to metaphysics. The award honors scholars whose work has had lasting impact on the field through originality, intellectual leadership and influence on subsequent philosophical inquiry.
