One man is in custody and a woman is in critical condition after a shooting at a Mercer University Drive gas station Sunday afternoon. Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Bibb County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a woman with a gunshot wound at Circle K, 3391 Mercer University Drive, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. The woman was reportedly involved in a verbal altercation with a man before she was shot in the Circle K parking lot, the news release said.

A woman critically injured by gunfire this month has died, and the suspect arrested in the shooting now faces a murder charge.
