Raleigh Medal of Arts

2020 - Arts Hero Award

Lauren was nominated for her efforts in bringing her theatre community together during the pandemic & starting conversations around racism in the theatre. In June of 2020, Lauren used her platform to launch an ongoing series of conversations around racism called TORN (Theatre on Racist Negativity), where they address equity, diversity & inclusion issues in the theatre community. For her efforts in supporting Black Lives Matter, she was presented with the Raleigh Medal of Arts, which is awarded for extraordinary achievement in the practice or support of local arts.
