Lé Baltar’s Biography

Lé Baltar is an independent culture journalist, film and theater critic, and script consultant out of Manila. The first recipient of the Alexis Tioseco and Nika Bohinc Award for Film Criticism at the QCinema International Film Festival in 2023, she’s an international voter at Golden Globes and a member of GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, where she votes annually for the Dorian Awards, the International Film Society Critics Association, and the Online Association of Female Film Critics. Over the years, Lé has reported extensively on Philippine independent cinema, Asian cinema, and trans cinema, and has covered Cannes, Locarno, Tribeca, and Fantasia, among other major festivals.
