Epigenetic strategies for mitigating kidney fibrosis
Renal fibrosis is a common histopathological feature of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and is strongly linked to progression toward kidney failure (Abbad, Esteve & Chatziantoniou, 2025). It is formed by repeated tubular epithelial injury, persistent inflammation, macrophage activation, myofibroblast expansion, vascular rarefaction, metabolic stress, oxidative stress, ferroptosis, and abnormal extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition (Huang, Fu & Ma, 2023).
Preventive Effect of Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester, an Active Component of Propolis, against TNF-α-Induced Endothelial Dysfunction through the β2-Adrenoceptor-Mediated eNOS/NO Signal Pathway.
Abstract <p>Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE), a dietary phenolic compound derived from propolis, exhibits cardiovascular and anti-inflammatory effects; however, its mechanisms in endothelial cells remain unclear. In this study, we demonstrated that CAPE induces eNOS phosphorylation and NO production in TNF-α-stimulated endothelial cells. Mechanistically, CAPE-induced NO production is mediated by Akt, PKA, and ERK signaling pathways.
Effects of laryngeal mask airway removal under different anesthesia states on pediatric airway complications: a systematic review and meta-analysis
This meta-analysis of 10 randomized controlled trials suggests comparable overall airway complication rates between deep and awake LMA removal in pediatric patients. However, this aggregate equivalence conceals a notable trade-off in specific outcomes: deep removal was associated with a higher risk of airway obstruction (RR 5.53), whereas awake removal was linked to a higher incidence of secretion-related complications.

Comparing efficacy and safety of oral drugs in treatment of hyperthyroidism: a systematic review and network meta-analysis
Internationally, the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism mainly relies on laboratory tests and imaging examinations. Laboratory tests usually include the measurement of indicators such as thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), free triiodothyronine (FT3), and free thyroxine (FT4). The typical laboratory findings in patients with hyperthyroidism are decreased TSH levels, along with increased FT3 and FT4 levels.
Indonesian parental knowledge, attitudes, and sources of information regarding pediatric space maintainers: a cross-sectional questionnaire-based study
The national survey found a significant knowledge gap on space maintainers among Indonesian parents, especially among those from rural areas. Parents were aware of space maintainers, although the awareness was variable in quality, and there were many misconceptions regarding the purpose or need for a space maintainer. Our findings match and complement the evolving literature from both developed and developing nations.

Enhancing physical activity in older type 2 diabetic adults through remote patient monitoring: a pre-post study in Taiwan
This study performed in older adults diagnosed with T2D found a correlation between age, physical function, emotional and nutritional status, and one’s daily step count. This suggests that daily activity may impact functional maintenance. Our findings suggest that integrating RPM into diabetes management enhances patient engagement, leading to a significant increase in daily step counts over the two-month tracking period.
