NLRP3 inflammasome and pyroptosis: implications in inflammation and multisystem disorders
In 2002, the Tschopp laboratory first proposed the concept of the inflammasome, which is a multi-protein complex composed of NLRP3 protein, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein (ASC), and pro-cysteine-aspartic protease-1 (pro-caspase-1) (Martinon, Burns & Tschopp, 2002). D’Souza & Heitman (2001) first proposed the term “pyroptosis” in their study of Salmonella infection in macrophages to define a specific type of programmed cell death associated with inflammatory responses.
SK4 potentially modulates the alternative splicing profile associated with papillary thyroid cancer development in BHT101 cells
To construct SK4 overexpression plasmid, we selected the transcript NM_002250 from National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database as the target. The pcDNA3.1 plasmid was used as the vector, and the pcDNA3.1-SK4 was purchased from Youbio Biotech (Changsha, China). The empty pcDNA3.1 plasmid was used as negative control.
Multi-ancestry genome-wide meta-analysis of 56,241 individuals identifies LRRC4C, LHX5-AS1 and nominates ancestry-specific loci PTPRK , GRB14 , and KIAA0825 as novel risk loci for Alzheimer's disease: the Alzheimer's Disease Genetics Consortium - PubMed
