1 Introduction Pneumonia is a leading cause of admission and mortality in children across the world [1]. According to The Global Burden of Disease Study 2017, the mortality rate of children under 5 years of age with pneumonia was 118.9 per 100,000 population [2]. Another epidemiologic study conducted in Thailand from 2015 to 2019 showed that the mortality rate of children under 5 years of age with pneumonia was 12.5 per 100,000 population [3].
