A systematic analysis of gut microbiome characteristics in Chinese patients with gestational diabetes mellitus
Abstract Objective: To systematically analyze the change pattern of core gut microbiota in Chinese gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) patients and provide basis for GDM early microecological screening and probiotic intervention. Methods: Databases including PubMed, web of science, CNKI, and Wanfang were searched to identify reports on the association between gut microbiota and GDM.
Contextual effects of monetary incentives on acceptance of unfair offers in the ultimatum game
Abstract Responders in the Ultimatum Game (UG) often reject unfair offers, yet previous studies remain inconsistent about when monetary incentives attenuate such rejections. To clarify this issue, we conducted four complementary experiments focusing on responders’ acceptance decisions while varying incentive realism, gain range, task structure, and participant background. Experiment 1 used a hypothetical one-shot questionnaire and did not support the predicted interaction pattern.

Spatial frequency channels mediate a visual metric for human spatial perception
Abstract An intriguing and ubiquitous phenomenon in vision is the perception of spatial property information (e.g. separation, size, shape etc.) that departs from the raw physical inputs yet conforms to the visual context. While it has been postulated that visual system employs an internal adaptable metric by which the signals conveying the spatial property information are scaled, it remains unknown whether and how such putative visual metric is represented in the brain.
The Critical Trigger for Cognitive Penetration: Cognitive Processing Priority over Perceptual Processing
1. Introduction As the saying goes, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. This means that different people have different views on what is beautiful. It is a typical cognitive penetration which refers to the phenomenon that occurs when perception is subject to higher-level cognitive influences like affection [1,2], motivations [3], theoretical presuppositions [4], or linguistic representations [5]. In other words, what a person believes, desires, intends, etc., may alter what one sees, hears, etc.

Correction: Differences in phonetic discrimination stem from differences in psychoacoustic abilities in learning the sounds of a second language: Evidence from ERP research
There are passages in the article [1] with text overlap from a previously published article by Diaz et al entitled “Brain potentials to native phoneme discrimination reveal the origin of individual differences in learning the sounds of a second language” in Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 2008; 105(42): 16083–8 [2] which was cited in the PLOS ONE article [1] as reference 17. The authors have rephrased the text and provided in-text citations to the original study [2] upon which theirs is based.
