Results Recent studies on the cellular diversity of MKs across organs prompted a reassessment of their distribution and function.5,6,26,68,69 We asked whether additional MK markers could be identified, whether a systematic framework for MK detection could be established, and whether previously unrecognized organs might harbor resident MKs. We collected MK data from multiple organs and developmental stages to identify additional MK markers through integrated analysis (Figure 1A).
