1 Introduction Nutrition during the first 1000 days of life (conception to the child's second birthday) supports healthy growth, neurological development, immunity, and long-term health outcomes [1]. Suboptimal macro and micronutrient intake in the short term contributes to poor linear growth, suboptimal neurological development, and altered immunity which can result in a higher risk for morbidity and mortality [2, 3].
