1 Introduction In the field of solid organ transplantation, graft rejection remains one of the major challenges to ensuring the survival and optimal function of the transplanted organ. While this phenomenon is influenced by various cell types and immune mechanisms [1], monocytes and macrophages play a crucial and cross-cutting role in the rejection process, regardless of the transplanted tissue or histological picture of rejection [2].
