What was your first job as a journalist?
Freelancing was my first job and it's still my job today.

Yes, that's what I started on.

Why did you become a journalist?
To tell stories, of course.

Yes. I was a features writer and the sports editor.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Covering the 2008 Obama inauguration in DC.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Do it for the love of it.

Asking if I wanted to go to Santa Barbara to spend a week on the set of Alexander Payne's movie, Sideways.
