How is social media changing news?

Social media is allowing reporters to connect with sources a readers in ways that are opening doors we didn't even know existed.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I like pitches that are concise and tell me why the story you're pitching me is relevant to my readers and fits into my coverage area.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Excel, OpenRefine and SQLite are my go-tos for data analysis. Tableau, Go and Highcharts help me make that analysis beautiful and meaningful.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist because I wanted to understand the world and to share whatever I learned with everyone around me in a meaningful way.
