More Fresno Unified employees from school sites are temporarily assigned to shuttle students as the district works to meet an updated state law. With the academic year just started, the state's third-largest school district notified parents that it is currently facing a shortage of drivers for small vehicles, typically used to transport students to activities such as field trips, athletic events, and after-school programs.

Costco in West Fresno pauses food court operations. Goodbye hot dogs, for now

The Costco in West Fresno is scheduled to close its food court starting Aug. 24 for renovation and upgrades. Earlier this week, the Costco located on West Shaw Avenue in Fresno posted a paper notice in the food court announcing the closing. The construction will take approximately 30 days, according to an assistant general manager. The food court area will be shut down and this location will pause serving hot food and fountain drinks, such as customers' favorite hot dogs and pizzas.
