African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has accused former President Jacob Zuma and the uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK Party) of exploiting the emotive issue of illegal immigration for their local government elections campaign. Mbalula briefed the media at the African National Congress (ANC)’s Luthuli House headquarters on the outcomes of Monday’s National Working Committee meeting.

City Power says it is owed around R4.5 billion in unpaid electricity debt. The power utility embarked on a revenue collection operation across Johannesburg targeting two properties, Broadcast House and Maxhoseni Hotel in Johannesburg where officials disconnected electricity due to outstanding payments. The utility says non-payment continues to impact service delivery and its ability to maintain infrastructure and purchase electricity.
