I am an intuitive and disciplined media practitioner, with a proven track record of hitting targets and achieving high standards of professional and scholastic attainment. As a trained, qualified journalist and teacher, I have a deep interest in developing individuals learning as well as professional knowledge of the media landscape. I have gathered a great deal of experience in the media, building strong contacts with practitioners and media providers. Formerly, as a Learning and Content Designer, I worked with some of the world’s leading companies such as Google and Coca-Cola creating engaging learning content and marketing material. My work for Sponge has been awarded at the Learning Technologies Awards, Learning and Performance Institute and Training Journal Awards. Currently, as a Communications Officer for Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, I coordinate, write, edit and distribute communications to an internal audience of 7,000 employees, and to external media outlets using a multitude of channels. I have also taken the lead in more strategic communications campaigns in the Trust, focusing on business needs and working with teams from across the hospital to raise awareness of certain issues (e.g. #WeCare2 campaign, annual flu campaign). I am a confident, eloquent and professionally-focused media practitioner and education post-graduate, with a good practical and technical understanding of the tools of the trade.
My experiences of working in the world of media has led me to creating content for multi-platform purposes for a wide variety of publications and on a freelance basis for such titles as The Herald (Plymouth), Western Morning News, i-to-i travel.
I also have had travel features, sport articles, restaurant reviews and short stories published.
I have directed short feature films - please see a directing credit from actor Sam Patrick in 2015, here: https://actors.mandy.com/uk/actor/profile/sam-patrick
