One branch of DC's multimedia franchise, the DC Animated Universe, saved its darkest story for the end. The timeline of DC's animated universe is larger than that of many modern superhero franchises and, as a result, can be somewhat confusing. Some of the DC Animated Universe shows that were released earlier than others actually take place chronologically after, much like the ever-expanding shared continuity of the MCU or James Gunn's fledgling live-action DC Universe.

The most-watched movie on Netflix proves that the streaming giant has beaten Disney at its own game. Netflix's most-watched movies range from Ryan Gosling's The Gray Man to Bird Box, with these projects having a staggering number of views and hours watched. One that only joined these ranks recently, as one of the best fantasy movies of 2025, was KPop Demon Hunters, which is now the most-watched individual movie in Netflix's history.

The Boys has many spin-offs, but it quietly killed the one that would be its replacement. Vought Rising is the next spin-off of The Boys to be released, focusing on Soldier Boy as a superhero in the 1950s. This makes sense after The Boys season 5's ending, which spent a lot of time developing Soldier Boy, his past with other Supes like Bombsight and Stormfront, and the V-One running through these Supes' veins.
