Low-dose baricitinib plus danazol in primary immune thrombocytopenia: a randomized, controlled phase 2 trial
|
Abstract This multicenter, randomized, controlled study was conducted to explore the safety and efficacy of low-dose baricitinib plus danazol for ITP patients who had failed corticosteroids and at least one recommended subsequent treatment. Participants were randomly assigned to receive baricitinib plus danazol (n = 108) or danazol alone (n = 108) by a central, interactive web-based system. Patients and caregivers were not blinded to group assignment.

Control of quantum coherence of photons exploiting quantum entanglement
Accurately controlling the quantum coherence of photons is pivotal for their applications in quantum sensing and quantum imaging. Here, we propose the utilization of quantum entanglement and local phase manipulation techniques to control the higher-order quantum coherence of photons.
Limits of single-photon storage in a single $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}$-type atom
Abstract We investigate theoretically the limits of single-photon storage in a single Λ-type atom, specifically the trade-off between storage efficiency and storage speed. We show that a control field can accelerate the storage process without degrading efficiency too much. However, the storage speed is ultimately limited by the total decay rate of the excited state involved.
Limits to Quantum Gate Fidelity from Near-Field Thermal and Vacuum Fluctuations
Abstract High-fidelity quantum gate operations are essential for achieving scalable quantum circuits. In spin qubit quantum computing systems, metallic gates and antennas that are necessary for qubit operation, initialization, and readout, also cause detrimental effects by enhancing fluctuations of electromagnetic fields.
Efficient calculation of three-dimensional tensor networks
Abstract We have proposed an efficient algorithm to calculate physical quantities in the translational invariant three-dimensional tensor networks, which is particularly relevant to the study of the three-dimensional classical statistical models and the (2+1)-dimensional quantum lattice models.
Optically induced static magnetic field in the ensemble of nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond
Abstract Generation of a local magnetic field at the nanoscale is desirable for many applications such as spin-qubit-based quantum memories. However, this is a challenge due to the slow decay of static magnetic fields. Here, we demonstrate a photonic spin density (PSD)-induced effective static magnetic field for an ensemble of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in bulk diamond. This locally induced magnetic field is a result of coherent interaction between the optical excitation and the NV centers.
Quantum field theory for spin operator of the photon
Abstract All elementary particles in nature can be classified as fermions with half-integer spin and bosons with integer spin. Within quantum electrodynamics (QED), even though the spin of the Dirac particle is well defined, there exist open questions on the quantized description of spin of the gauge field particle—the photon.
Quantum sensing of photonic spin density using a single spin qubit
Abstract Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond have emerged as promising room-temperature quantum sensors for probing condensed matter phenomena ranging from spin liquids, two-dimensional (2D) magnetic materials, and magnons to hydrodynamic flow of current. Here we propose and demonstrate that the nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond can be used as a quantum sensor for detecting the photonic spin density, the spatial distribution of light's spin angular momentum.
Single-photon pulse induced giant response in N > 100 qubit system
Abstract The temporal dynamics of large quantum systems perturbed weakly by a single excitation can give rise to unique phenomena at the quantum phase boundaries. Here, we develop a time-dependent model to study the temporal dynamics of a single photon interacting with a defect within a large system of interacting spin qubits (N > 100). Our model predicts a quantum resource, giant susceptibility, when the system of qubits is engineered to simulate a first-order quantum phase transition (QPT).

An efficient and compact switch for quantum circuits
Let us focus our attention on our switch for both quantum circuits beginning with the qubit–qubit system. We begin by fixing the the qubit frequency of Q at ω = 4.9174 GHz, denoted by the horizontal solid line in Fig. 2a. We then tune the qubit frequency of Q by its z bias line and probe its microwave excitation response.

General Synthetic Strategy for Hollow Hybrid Microspheres through a Progressive Inward Crystallization Process
Hollow hybrid microspheres have found great potential in different areas, such as drug delivery, nanoreactors, photonics, and lithium-ion batteries. Here, we report a simple and scalable approach to construct high-quality hollow hybrid microspheres through a previously unexplored growth mechanism.
