Last week, during the Journee Patrimoine des Startups, an event organized by Cup of Teach during which several startups – social payments’ Leetchi.com, wine subscription service Le Petit Ballon, Uber, and more –  I chose to attend my nearest startup’s open-door event, which happened to be independent digital art eCommerce startup Curioos.

A law passed in France, which takes effect November 1st, will require companies with less than 250 employees to inform employees of any intention to sell the company (or a majority stake in the company). This law will certainly have a ripple effect to startups, where deals are often made fast and furious, with the biggest acquisitions in the past 3 years often happening in a matter of weeks.

Ridesharing marketplace Blablacar announced today that they have launched into Germany, their 11th market in Europe. The company raised $10 Million from Accel Ventures back in January 2012, after they had already launched in France, Spain and the UK, and have since acquired PostinAuto to enter into Italy, acquired a team to enter into Poland, and launched across Benelux.
