When local truck driver Eddie White was arriving in Allansford this afternoon he wasn’t expecting to be involved in what could have been a fatal mistake by an overtaking vehicle. As the truck driver slowed to begin turning onto the Great Ocean Road from the Princes Highway, the vehicle in question attempted to overtake the truck to discover that he became on the other side of the wire barrier that separates both the lanes.

Operation Regal remains in effect for the remainder of Monday. Police have been out in force patrolling the region’s roads, with one person expected to front court after refusing a preliminary breath test on Sunday. Camperdown Police intercepted a 36-year-old man on the Hamilton Highway who was driving erratically. He was clocked at 115km/h in a 100 zone, and will be summoned to appear in court.
