What was your first job as a journalist?
Writing for the newspaper at the University of San Francisco.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Nope.
How is social media changing news?
It's faster and repetitive. The good stuff often takes longer and misses the publication cycle unless humanoids champion it.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
Finding the weird and rendering it legible.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Brief introduction, plus two ideas (w/ sources), and one interesting protagonist for each.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Slack, Trello, Gmail, WordPress, Google Docs, and Grammarly.

Why did you become a journalist?
I am insatiably curious and am addicted to writing. Seemed natural.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, I did not.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The piece I wrote for Wired UK about a religion built on Ethereum's blockchain. It captured all the weird that happens in that space.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep a journal, a notepad, and don't take Twitter too seriously.

The afternoon between 11am - 2pm GMT +1

"You're an excellent journalist! Would you mind helping me craft a few ideas I've been mulling over?" (This happened in a dream).
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
"i wanna rit 4 bitcoins. can grammar free two article every day."
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Hiding under my desk.
