Ghoul Roulette Episode 8: ACT OF VENGEANCE (74)
Podcast (ghoulsum): Play in new window | Download Subscribe: RSS WHAT HAS THE WHEEL DONE TO US NOW??? Hey y’all, welcome to Episode 8 of the Ghoul Roulette podcast! On this trigger warning requiring episode we discuss Act of Vengeance from 1974, a movie about a group of women training to enact revenge on sexual assault perpetrating men that somehow manages to be entirely exploitative. If you have questions about the term “the male gaze” this movie might clear those up for you.

Cinepunx Episode 218: APOCALYPSE NOW REDUX(79) & PLATOON (86)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download Subscribe: | RSS You can hardly believe it but those stalwart boys of Cinepunx are back! On this explosive new episode we get into it on two classic films we should have seen already, but somehow had not: Apocalypse Now and Platoon. We specifically watched the redux edition of Apocalypse Now if that matters to you, which I had not seen before now.
Ghoul Roulette Episode 6: MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON
Podcast (ghoulsum): Play in new window | Download Subscribe: RSS The wheel of pain has chosen a particularly light burden on this, the sixth episode of Ghoul Roulette. Marcel the Shell with Shoes On from 2021 is an almost unbearably cute and sentimental film, based on a series of youtube shorts. We are both kind of in the pocket for Jenny Slate and her ex who directs this movie seems ok I guess. As with most of the supposedly life affirming movies I choose, this one does have a hint of sadness.
Cinepunx Episode 217: TOKYO STORY (53)
Podcast: Play in new window | Download Subscribe: | RSS NEW EPISODE IS HERE! Join us as we explore one of the greatest directors of the 20th Century, Yasujiro Ozu by discussing his most famous film, Tokyo Story. As is our custom we do our usual WACK AND ON TRACK gimm8ck and unlike usual Josh has some actual; wack stuff to share. I spend a little too much time on this episode borrowing commentary from Dr. Jeff Stout who I saw lecture about this movie in like 2007.
Ghoul Roulette Episode 5: THE PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK
Podcast (ghoulsum): Play in new window | Download Subscribe: RSS Hey man, I’m not holding unless you are looking for another incredible episode of GHOUL ROULETTE! This week the wheel of pain has turned and landed us in 1971 New York, and it is dry out there y’all. It is The Panic in Needle Park featuring Al Pacino and Kitty Winn and of course a lot of really sketchy needle work. Look, this is yet another grimy drug movie Evan is subjecting me to, but to be fair, this movie is really good.
Ghoul Roulette Episode 4: SUZUME

Hey friends, thanks for joining us again. This episode was recorded basically two weeks ago but as I am writing this I am mid Covid quarantine so like, you are gonna be just fine. Discussion here is pretty good though unsurprisingly Evan was a bit confused by this one.

Podcast: Play in new window | Download Subscribe: | RSS COME AT YAH WITH A BRAND NEW EPISODE! Pedals and Precision: Tudor Pro Cycling at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec
Québec City carries its history on every corner—stone walls, cobblestones, cafés spilling into narrow streets. For a few days in September, it also carried the buzz of race bikes and the weight of a UCI WorldTour peloton. Tudor brought us here to see their Pro Cycling team take on the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec. The race is unusual compared to most on the calendar.
Time and Precision: Christopher Ward and Everton FC's New York Moment
The summer heat was already building at Icahn Stadium on July 24th when the first Everton supporters began filtering through the gates on Randall’s Island. Many had crossed an ocean for this moment—traveling from Liverpool, Manchester, and points across the UK—while others had driven from as far as Philadelphia and Boston. They came clutching scarves, wearing faded jerseys, and checking their phones for updates on the club’s new signings.
Hands-On: The Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925
There’s something satisfying about handling a watch that feels like it knows exactly what it is. The Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 (L3.803.5.53.6) landed on my wrist with that kind of confident presence—not shouting for attention, but quietly competent in the way good tool watches should be. At 39mm with a mix of steel and 18-karat rose gold, it’s Longines’ centennial nod to their 1925 original, the world’s first dual time zone wristwatch.

A New Perspective: Hands-On with the Leica ZM12
There are certain objects that just feel “right” the moment you pick them up—think a favorite camera, a well-worn leather jacket, or the satisfying heft of a perfectly balanced lens. That was my first impression handling the new Leica ZM12: a reassuring, Goldilocks weight in the hand, neither too heavy nor too precious to wear daily. Leica’s latest foray into watchmaking isn’t a camera for your wrist, but in true Leica fashion, it does reward a closer look.

Between Speed And Precision: A Weekend With IWC At The Miami Grand Prix
The Miami Grand Prix is intense by design. The sun hits differently on the tarmac, the sound of the cars doesn’t just echo — it reverberates, right through you. Everything is dialed up: the engineering, the spectacle, the precision. But amid the blur of the race weekend, IWC created something quieter — a way into the action that felt more deliberate.

Packers’ Schedule 2024 - Revealing How Many Wins the Packers Will Have This Season Original
The Green Bay Packers’ schedule for was released in full Thursday. Although the 2024 opponents are known soon after the Super Bowl, the schedule release is an increasingly popular NFL day. Placements of bye weeks, primetime games, and what could be pivotal games late in the season give more context when predicting win-loss records. But this is no prediction. Consider this a spoiler warning, as I am about to reveal the Packers’ record for the upcoming NFL season.

This Packers Draft Strategy Could Influence the Rest of the League
A particular Packers draft strategy was deployed in greater effect than ever during the 2024 NFL Draft. In recent years under GM Brian Gutekunst, the Packers appear to have changed up their draft strategy in terms of how they approach addressing positions of need in the draft. The 2020 and 2021 drafts from the Packers were, with the exception of Jordan Love, very underwhelming.

The Packers Must Prioritize These Positions in the 2024 NFL Draft Original
The 2024 NFL Draft is the most important one in years for the Packers. Most teams endure a rough rebuilding period following the departure of a franchise quarterback, but the Packers and their fans bathe in luck once again, as the team has essentially skipped this part of the process. There’s little doubt that Jordan Love is the new face of the franchise, and the Packers have helped him to quickly succeed by surrounding him with a plethora of young offensive talent.

This NFL Draft Prospect Could Transform the Packers’ Defense Original
The 2024 NFL Draft is five weeks out, and as the free agency storm begins to wind down, it’s becoming clearer what positions the Packers will look to target with their 11 selections. Though the Packers made an excellent move by bringing in former Giants safety Xavier McKinney, their secondary remains one of the bigger question marks on the roster. The Packers are finally overhauling the safety position.
Packers’ 2024 NFL Draft Notebook - Iowa CB Cooper DeJean
The 2024 NFL Draft might be loaded with offensive talent, but Packers’ fans could once again see the team go defense in the first round. What looked like a promising Green Bay secondary just a couple years ago now presents itself (again… again) as arguably the most troubling unit on the roster. Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean (6’0, 203 lbs.) has emerged as a popular mock selection for the Packers at pick 25 in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Can Jordan Love and the Packers Break the 49ers Playoff Curse? Original
In his first playoff start, Jordan Love threw 3 TDs and posted a perfect 158.3 passer rating as the Green Bay Packers came into the Dallas Cowboys’ building and demolished them in a game that was not nearly as close as 48-32 final score suggests. The youngest team to ever make the postseason is firing on all cylinders, in every facet.
Packers β Cowboys Wild Card Playoffs Preview and Predictions
The Green Bay Packers essentially played a playoff game last Sunday against the Chicago Bears, earning their ticket to the postseason with a 17-9 win that was more dominant than the final score suggests. Jordan Love and the Packers are red hot entering the playoffs. Their last two wins are possibly their most thorough and well-rounded of the year.
Packers Face All-Too-Familiar Week 18 Scenario in Matchup vs Bears Original
For the second straight season, the Green Bay Packers have set themselves up for a win-and-in Week 18 scenario after a dominant 33-10 win over the rival Minnesota Vikings, moving to 8-8. They now control their own destiny. If Packers clinch No. 7 seed, they could play Cowboys, Lions or Eagles. If Packers clinch No. 6 seed, they could play Cowboys or Lions.
Cinepunx Recommends: A Guide to 2023 Cinema
2024 has arrived, and 2023 has left us with little more than music and cinema to celebrate. Perhaps you are one of the lucky ones who made it out of the last year intact, but for me this year was a disaster, let alone for many other folks. Whether you enjoyed the last year though, there was a surprising amount of compelling movies that came out despite a massive strike of two unions in the industry (solidarity forever).

Joe Barry and the Packers’ Divorce Is Long Overdue
It’s time for Joe Barry and the Packers to part ways. In fact, it was time after the end of last season. The fact that Barry will likely survive until the end of the season – and that it’s still not a guarantee he’ll be fired even then – is telling of the Packers’ stubbornness. After the Buccaneers’ Baker Mayfield became the first visiting QB in the history of Lambeau Field to finish with a perfect passer rating, the writing is on the wall.
Packers of October Return in Ugly 24-22 Loss to Giants
The Green Bay Packers team that had won four of their last five, including outclassing the Lions and Chiefs, dissipated before our eyes at MetLife Stadium Monday night. It might not quite have been the Packers’ ugliest game of the season, but it sure was the most ridiculous. It also feels like possibly the most crushing, as playoff hopes were soaring while the Packers were quickly becoming one of the hottest teams in the league.

Packers’ Playoff Hopes Alive After Thanksgiving Win Over Lions Original
The Packers’ playoff hopes are alive post-Thanksgiving – in October, I never would’ve guessed this could be reality. Green Bay played their most complete game of the season Thursday at Detroit. Jordan Love enjoyed arguably the best game of his career (22/32, 268 yards, 3 TDs) while the Packers defeated one of the top teams in the NFC in a game that wasn’t as close as the 29-22 might indicate.
The Future of Aaron Jones and the Packers’ Running Backs
Aaron Jones is one of the great running backs in the history of the Green Bay Packers. However, his future with the team, as well as the future of the entire Packers’ RB group, are clouded with more uncertainty than they have been in a long time. Jones has helped make the Packers’ rushing attack one of the better units in the league since becoming the starter, especially during Matt LaFleur’s tenure. Jones has the third most rushing yards in the 104-year history of the franchise (5,529).
Where I Was Wrong About the 2023 Green Bay Packers… So Far Original
The Green Bay Packers are 3-6 after a competitive 23-19 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers continue to fall further out of the playoff picture. At this point, all we’re looking for is development from Jordan Love and the offense while Green Bay loses close games to secure a higher draft pick in 2024. I didn’t expect the Packers to be anywhere near legitimate contenders, but I also wouldn’t have bet they’d only have three wins through 10 weeks of action.

Packers Get a Big Break in 20-3 Win Over Rams
The good news is the Green Bay Packers secured their first win since Sept. 24. The bad news is it was against the Los Angeles Rams who were without their starting quarterback, and the Packers made many of the same mistakes we’ve seen week after week in the first half of the year – they just happened to be playing a lifeless opponent. I can’t stress enough how awful the Rams are in the absence of Matthew Stafford. This is, by far, the easiest game Green Bay will play all year.
