Let’s talk about the big, slightly robotic elephant in the room: AI. Specifically, the loud chorus of “AI is going to take your job” that’s been buzzing around the digital world lately. If you caught Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman’s recent email to his staff you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. One key quote from that email was this: “AI is coming for your job… heck it’s coming for my job too.” Dramatic? Sure. True? Not really.

Abstract Socially transmitted behaviors are widespread across the animal kingdom, yet there is a lack of comprehensive datasets documenting their distribution and ecological significance. Knowledge of animal behavioral traditions could be essential for understanding many species' responses to anthropogenic disturbances and further enhancing conservation efforts. Here, we introduce the first open-access database that synthesizes data on animal cultural behaviors and traditions.
