What was your first job as a journalist?
I was a trainee report on my local paper, The Forester, in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means fact-checking, informing, correcting and holding those in power to account. It also means entertaining and caring about communities.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Not High School - but I was the sports editor, web editor and a entertainment reporter for my University newspaper. An invaluable experience.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
There have been a few - but covering the misconduct of police officers in the Thames Valley following the Sarah Everard case stands out
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time before 9am - but I'm always open to hearing pitches
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
While working in rural Gloucestershire, a regional pitch about how many houses in the Shetlands had double-glazing...
What's your favorite drink?
Alcoholic? Can't beat a good whisky. Non-alcoholic - Fanta Fruit Twist. An underrated beverage for sure!
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On the sofa, enjoying Marvel movies, Stranger Things, football or the Xbox. You'll also find me at the beach
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That Milton Keynes is a run-down, concrete jungle. It's got so many beauty spots and wonderful pockets of communities who really care
