"In Other Worlds". A Barbican Immersive exhibition by Liam Young and collaborators
Imagining the future, sometimes through dystopian visions and other times through desired, though near-impossible, scenarios, is one of the aims of the exhibition "In Other Worlds," curated by Liam Young and Collaborators, on view at London's Barbican Centre until September 6, 2026. The exhibition invites visitors to delve into the worlds imagined by Young and his collaborators, exploring the possibilities and challenges of what the future might hold.
How sports betting is changing the way people watch sports
The Seattle Seahawks may have easily dispatched the New England Patriots on Super Bowl Sunday, but a more consequential battle unfolded off the field. Sports betting companies vied with each other for fan attention, engagement and market share by flooding the broadcast with ads and promotions. These will continue to crowd our social feeds and commercial breaks throughout the Winter Olympics. Want to wager on a curling match between Italy and Switzerland?

Quantitative MRCP and metrics of bile duct disease over time in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis: A prospective study
1 INTRODUCTION Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic, invariably progressive liver disease characterised by multi-focal stricturing throughout the biliary tree.1 No medical therapy has been shown to slow disease progression, and transplantation remains the only life-extending intervention for patients.
20 Best Restaurants in Wellington, FL
This article was written by local contributor Liam Young & edited by the Travel Lens team. Wellington, Florida, has always been a special place for me. I've grown up surrounded by its vibrant community, world-class equestrian events, and beautiful parks. But if there's one thing that truly makes me love living in this small yet bustling town, it's the incredible food scene.
G7, US production shifts, Russia & China
I’m old enough to remember the first computers being introduced into newsrooms. That was over 40 years ago. They were big and ugly. Every piece of them – from their inelegant architecture to the microchips driving them – was manufactured in Japan. Then the pendulum began to swing, and by the turn of this century China was establishing itself as the king of computer manufacturing. Particularly microchips. Now the pendulum is swinging back in spectacular fashion.

A bidding war has erupted over the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, and fans are as starstruck by the names involved as they are sticker-shocked by the price. Four groups submitted final bids on May 15 and at least one reached US$1 billion. Two remaining groups boast major stars. Hip hop icon Snoop Dogg is part of Hollywood producer Neko Sparks’s bid. Toronto superstar The Weeknd was folded in by Harlo Capital’s Jeffrey and Michael Kimel.
Quickly Renumber Your Pipes and Junctions
Font size: + – 2 minutes reading time (306 words) When building a model in any of AFT's software all pipe and junction numbers must be unique. These pipe and junction numbers can be useful for sorting information in areas such as "Model Data" and "Output". Therefore, keeping an organized structure for these pipe and junction numbers is strongly advised. Though, like every project, unforeseen developments can always arise.
Using Cost Libraries for Optimal Engineering
Font size: + – 3 minutes reading time (568 words) This blog assumes users already know how to import engineering and cost libraries into the software. If you do not, we recommend checking out this example problem from the help file. One of the lesser-known features of AFT products is the ability to cost out your entire system.

Boris Johnson Wants to Blame Young People for Coronavirus. He Has Nobody to Blame but Himself
Watching Boris Johnson, Chris Whitty and Patrick Valance take to their Downing Street podiums on Wednesday evening felt like returning to the beginning of lockdown. Just like then, Covid-19 cases are rapidly rising, the testing system is a shambles, and the government is searching for someone to blame.
The Tories cannot be allowed to scrap free travel for under 18s in London
The government approach to the Covid-19 pandemic has become as muddled as it is dangerous. From today, some school-aged children and young adults will be expected to return to schools as part of the government’s move into ‘phase two’ of their response to the crisis. This is part of a move to get all students back to schools in the very near future. But when that happens, it will be young working-class Londoners and their families who will be hit hardest by government failure.
‘Storytelling is a critical act of architecture’: Liam Young
How we perceive the cultures and spaces around us is largely determined by mediums of fiction and entertainment. These extraordinary shared languages are the vehicles through which we exchange ideas and engage with our environment. It is impossible to underestimate the importance of media in the production of culture. In film, video games and literature, we have always imagined alternative worlds as a means to understand our own world in new ways.
Pausing the campaign
The government has announced that May’s local and mayoral elections in England will be postponed for a year due to the coronavirus outbreak. This is the right decision for the health and safety of the population. I supported the call after it was suggested by the Electoral Commission and it is right that the government has listened to that advice and acted accordingly. I am therefore pausing my campaign for the London Assembly and I look forward to re-starting the campaign in 2021.

Liam Young: London Assembly candidate statement
Here is the full text of the candidate statement that appears on the Labour Party’s voting portal for Liam Young: Inequality is the defining issue of our time. The deep disparity between the rich and the poor could not be starker, and nobody feels this more than Londoners. I am asking for your vote because I want to tackle this inequality, and I am proud to have been endorsed by the CWU, Unite, BFAWU, TSSA, ASLEF, the FBU, and Momentum in this campaign.
Liam for London
My name is Liam Young, I’m 23 and I am standing to be a Labour candidate for a list position on the London Assembly. I am asking for your support in this selection because I believe that I have both the passion and the skills necessary to win the election and offer a radical agenda for change in City Hall. I am standing to be your Labour candidate because I believe in a London for the many. We have some of the richest places in the country across London, but we also have some of the poorest.
Rise
âLiam is one of Britainâs most brilliant young writers. He was ridiculed for believing a Corbyn-led Labour party could inspire people â but ultimately completely vindicated. If you want to know why the youth surge happened, this is an absolute must-read.â â Owen Jones
Homeless deaths in London should shame the Tories
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has found that 726 homeless people died on the streets in 2018 — representing a massive rise of 22% on the previous year. If this news does not shame the Tories then I am not sure what will. Sadly, given the callous nature of this government I doubt that many ministers will even pay this news much attention. I have looked at the ONS data closely and was saddened to read that 20% of the total number of homeless deaths in 2018 occurred in London.
Liam Young: Why I'm standing to be a Labour London Assembly candidate
Last week, Labour Party members across London were contacted by the regional party about applying for the selection process ahead of the 2020 Greater London Assembly elections. I quickly announced that I would be taking part in this process, seeking the Labour nomination to stand in the election, with a promise to shake things up should I enter City Hall.

Ahead of the 2019 Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (UABB), titled "Urban Interactions," Archdaily is working with the curators of the "Eyes of the City" section at the Biennial to stimulate a discussion on how new technologies – and Artificial Intelligence in particular – might impact architecture and urban life.
