Israel has officially opened its first embassy in Fiji with the country's Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa'ar, attending a traditional welcome ceremony in the capital Suva. The embassy opening comes after Fiji established its own mission in Jerusalem last year, making it one of only seven countries in the world to do so.

Over the weekend one of the biggest fashion events in the Pacific took place in the Fiji capital Suva. The Fiji Fashion Week drew 15 designers from across the region to participate in the annual event. Designer Epeli Tuibeqa says that for the fashion industry in Fiji to develop, the government needs to provide practical help such as equipment, fabric, and printing machines.
