There are lots of reasons to travel to New Orleans. The most popular attractions are the music, the history, the food, the spirit — and now the Blerds. Black Nerds, or Blerds as they’re called, are the focus of Blerdfest 2026. The one-day event will be held this year on June 6 and it’s not to be missed.

And now for something different – a fiction foray in the Voodoo Universe. I was honored to perform this piece as part of Z.W.Mohr’s Midnight Society here in New Orleans. I haven’t written fiction in over 2 decades, I hope you like it. – Lilith Dorsey Some stories you tell every chance you get : the time Grandma yelled at a policeman, or the time your little brother put red hots up his nose. This is not one of those stories, this is one of those stories you never tell, unless you have to.

There’s lots to love about New Orleans- Jazzfest and Mardi Gras, Music, Floats, and Big Fun. I’ve had a life long love affair with the city and I became a full time resident almost 5 yeas ago. The recent terror attack on New Year’s Day is heavy on everyone’s mind and many people have questions, thoughts and prayers. A news outlet asked me what the tone of the city was and I responded, “New Orleans locals are so tired.
