Have you ever used a typewriter?
Not in earnest, although I own one. It's Ukrainian, vintage, from Kharkiv, turquoise, with Russian letters.

Why did you become a journalist?
It's easier than writing fiction.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I had such a good time reviewing Volodymyr Rafeenko's novel Mondegreen for the LARB. It was a pleasure to read and write about.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Behind a book.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I loved the Calvert Journal so much. I hope they come back one day.
