Bands played among Norfolk Island pines and in between sets there was the sound of ocean waves at Port Macquarie's Ride the Soundwave Festival. The 2023 festival sold out, with the weekend's line-up featuring some stellar indie folk bands including headliners Boy and Bear, The Waifs, Busby Marou, Mitch Tambo, and Tullara. For Boy and Bear singer Dave Hosking, the NSW north coast waves were part of the attraction of the gig.
