Lilly Martin is an American citizen living permanently in Syria. She has been in Syria 27 years and has been writing about the conflict since April 1, 2011. She won the journalism award in the 7th grade at Tioga Junior High School in Fresno, CA., USA She is a retired medical professional. Education includes pre-med at UCI and UCSD.
