By: Lily Van Beek and Jack Wolkove If you went to the Blueberry Jam festival in Mabou, N.S., this past August, you might have seen Leo Cox on the lineup playing the guitar or bass in a band, or two, or six.4 Over the past few years, the Dalhousie University music student has been in several bands and has played and composed with other songwriters across Halifax. “I think people just know that it’s what I love to do,” Cox says.

Dalhousie University is seeking to employ AI tools “more robustly,” Cathie O’Toole, the university’s vice-president of finance and administration, told the board of governors at a recent meeting. Mike Fleury, the senior manager of strategic communications at Dalhousie, said in a statement to the Dalhousie Gazette that the university has been exploring the use of new technology to automate routine tasks within the university’s financial services department since 2023.

Anjali Seshadri, president-elect of the Dalhousie Student Union, says she will improve student engagement by implementing more student-facing initiatives. Seshadri’s previous roles include serving as the 2SLGBTQIA+ students’ community representative, as well as a member of the DSU oversight committee and bylaw and policy review committee. Seshadri promises to initiate reforms that make the DSU more collaborative and transparent when she officially takes office on May 1.
