TIGAR maintains intestinal epithelial regeneration by stabilizing HMGCL and promoting β-catenin β-hydroxybutyrylation in burn-induced sepsis - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Burn-induced sepsis triggers profound intestinal injury, contributing to systemic inflammation and organ damage. Beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), a major ketone body, acts as a key regulator of intestinal epithelial regeneration. Its metabolic dysregulation has been implicated in impaired cell proliferation and the maintenance of intestinal stem cells (ISCs). However, the dynamic regulatory mechanisms underlying BHB fluctuation during burn sepsis-induced intestinal injury remain elusive.

Long-read RNA sequencing enables full-length chimeric transcript annotation of transposable elements in lung adenocarcinoma - BMC Cancer
The RNA extraction protocol involved tissue grinding and lysis, where TRIzol was used as the lysis solution. After centrifugation, the upper aqueous phase containing RNA was separated. Further purification was achieved by adding chloroform, followed by additional centrifugation steps. The RNA was then precipitated with isopropanol, washed with ethanol, and centrifuged to obtain a purified RNA pellet. The final step involved dissolving the RNA precipitate in RNase-free water.
Somatic repetitive element insertions Define New Biomarkers in Pan-cancer genome
Abstract Repetitive elements insertions (REIs), including tandem repeat insertions (TRIs) and transposable element insertions (TEIs), which account for over 90% of large-scale (>50 bp) somatic insertions, are known to cause diseases and serve as biomarkers for precision oncology in cancers. However, the genomic landscape of large-scale REIs has not been systematically characterized in pan-cancer, primarily due to the limitations of short-read sequencing (SRS).

We studied the mechanical, thermal and shape memory properties of the blends and proposed schematic diagrams to explain their dual and triple shape memory behaviors. We found that the microstructures played an important role in the shape memory process.
The malS-5′UTR regulates hisG, a key gene in the histidine biosynthetic pathway in Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi
Bacterial noncoding RNAs (ncRNA) regulate diverse cellular processes, including virulence and environmental fitness. The malS 5? untranslated region (named malS-5?UTR) was identified as a regulatory ncRNA that increases the invasive capacity of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi. An IntaRNA search suggested base pairing between malS-5?UTR and hisG mRNA, a key gene in the histidine biosynthetic pathway. Overexpression of malS-5?UTR markedly reduced bacterial growth in minimal medium without histidine.
