Linda Kernohan, a.k.a. Miss Music Nerd, is a composer, pianist, educator and writer. She teaches music appreciation to unsuspecting college students and private piano lessons to adorable K-12 kids. She has been the classical blogger for the Grammy Awards, and a contributor to Burgh Vivant, Pittsburgh's Cultural Talk Magazine. She has had her music performed across the U.S. and Europe. Her most recent project is A Book of Hours, a cycle of piano pieces based on the writings of Thomas Merton.

Historic Renovation Inspires New Concert Series

Published October 14, 2021 at 7:25 AM EDT Stephen Grant / flickr Built in 1868, St. Mary’s Catholic Church served German Village until a lightning strike in 2016 exacerbated existing structural issues. The church building closed for more than 2 years, undergoing a major renovation that combined the grandeur of the church’s traditional design with the advantages of modern engineering. “We call it our 150-year fix,” says Deacon Roger Minner.
