What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
You'll never see it! I was 16 and I covered the 60th anniversary of Dutch liberation. Interviewed veterans and fellow exchange students.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep at it. Read the kind of work you aspire to create. Don't feel pressured to write a blog. Avoid free work (pitch a spec piece instead).
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I was once asked to pose as a forum user to boost activity on a well-known financial advice website. Huge no-no!
What's your favorite drink?
A whisky sour, or the smoked old fashioned (Mr. Right) at d|bar.
