This simplified version of the Overnight French Toast recipe from The New York Times is one of the recipes that is requested most when I serve it. It is a crowd pleaser for all ages — from the youngest to the oldest. And, it’s a great option when you know you will need to feed a group in the morning; it should be entirely assembled the night before, and cooked for about an hour before serving. The proportions here typically serve 6-8 people, but it is easily doubled for a larger crowd.

Quick, easy, and adaptable for varied palates, these chicken tostadas are in the regular Taco Tuesday rotation in our home when we feel like a pivot from traditional tacos. Rotisserie chicken is an easy substitute if you are looking for a quick meal (and, aren’t we all this time of year!). Pull the meat off the chicken and simmer it in salsa to make a quick tinga. Adapted from The New York Times.

Sometimes we all need a sweet treat. This Carrot Orange Olive Oil Cake is wonderfully moist and has a rich orange flavor and undertones of spice. It pleases adults and kids alike. Bon appétit! Yield: One 9-inch cake (8 servings) — adapted from NYT Cooking.
