Abstract The sand body of meandering river reservoir has strong heterogeneity and developed barrier body. The distribution of remaining oil in ultra-high water cut stage is affected by the coupling effect of static constraint of reservoir configuration and dynamic regulation of injection-production relationship, which has become the core bottleneck of oil recovery improvement.

Abstract This article addresses the problem that the matching relationship between the braided river configuration and the injection–production streamline of a reservoir in the late stage of ultra-high water cut leads to different distribution patterns of the remaining oil at the top and plane of the layer. This article studies the influence of static and dynamic factors on the distribution of remaining oil in the braided river sedimentary model by means of numerical simulation.
