Abstract The immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) remains a primary barrier to effective immunotherapy. Tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) are key contributors to this immunosuppressive landscape; however, the mechanisms governing their recruitment and infiltration into tumor tissues remain poorly understood. In this study, we unravel a pro-tumorigenic role of thrombospondin-1 (THBS1) in gastric cancer (GC) mediated by TAN recruitment.

Abstract Cationic amino acid transporter 1 (CAT1) transports cationic amino acids and plays pivotal roles in cancer proliferation, immune modulation, and nitric oxide metabolism. It also serves as the specific cellular receptor for certain murine leukemia viruses. Here, we report the cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) structure of mammalian CAT1 in complex with its substrate ornithine and the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of Friend murine leukemia virus (FrMLV).

Abstract Coronaviruses represent a significant zoonotic threat, with host adaptation serving as a pivotal determinant of cross-species transmission. The bat-derived β-coronavirus HKU5 utilizes its spike (S) protein for receptor recognition and viral entry. Here, we report the cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) structure of the HKU5 S protein in a closed conformation. Two fatty acids are bound to the HKU5 S protein, stabilizing the S protein in the closed conformation.
