Abstract In Landau’s celebrated Fermi liquid theory, electrons in a metal obey the Wiedemann–Franz law at the lowest temperatures. This law states that electron heat and charge transport are linked by a constant L0, i.e., the Sommerfeld value of the Lorenz number (L). Such relation can be violated at elevated temperatures where the abundant inelastic scattering leads to a reduction of the Lorenz number (L < L0).

For layered materials, the interlayer stacking is a critical degree of freedom tuning electronic properties, while its microscopic characterization faces great challenges. The transition-metal dichalcogenide 1T−TaS2 represents a novel example, in which the stacking pattern is not only enriched by the spontaneous occurrence of the intralayer charge density wave, but also recognized as a key to understand the nature of the low-temperature insulating phase.

Abstract The discovery of several electronic orders in kagome superconductors AV3Sb5 (A means K, Rb, Cs) provides a promising platform for exploring unprecedented emergent physics1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Under moderate pressure (<2.2 GPa), the triple-Q charge density wave (CDW) order is monotonically suppressed by pressure, while the superconductivity shows a two-dome-like behaviour, suggesting an unusual interplay between superconductivity and CDW order10,11.
