Salinity-gradient-driven charge separation for enhanced photocatalytic uranium reduction from seawater
Abstract Seawater harbors vast uranium reserves essential for the long-term sustainability of nuclear energy, yet its ultra-trace concentration and complex ionic matrix make efficient extraction a persistent challenge. Photocatalysis offers a green route to uranium recovery, but its practical deployment is hindered by rapid charge recombination and reliance on sacrificial agents or external bias.

Ultrasensitive 2,4,6-trinitrophenol nanofluidic sensor inspired by olfactory sensory neurons in sniffer dogs
Ultrasensitive 2,4,6-trinitrophenol nanofluidic sensor inspired by olfactory sensory neurons in sniffer dogs Explosives as high-energy materials could generate huge destructive explosions along with massive releases of energy. The regulatory or illegal transportation of explosives threatens the peace and stability worldwide.
A Marine Bacteria-Inspired Electrochemical Regulation for Continuous Uranium Extraction from Seawater and Salt Lake Brine
A Marine Bacteria-Inspired Electrochemical Regulation for Continuous Uranium Extraction from Seawater and Salt Lake Brine Oceans and salt lakes contain vast amounts of uranium. Uranium recovery from natural waters not only copes with radioactive pollution in water but also can sustain the fuel supply for nuclear power. The adsorption-assisted electrochemical processes offer a promising route for efficient uranium extraction.

Photothermal‐Enhanced Uranium Extraction from Seawater: A Biomass Solar Thermal Collector with 3D Ion‐Transport Networks
Abstract Access to uranium resources is critical to the sustainable development of nuclear energy. The ocean contains abundant uranium resources, but the marine biological pollution and the low concentration of uranium make it a giant challenge to extract uranium from seawater. On the foundation of selective uranium adsorption using high uranium-affinity groups, realizing the external-field improved uranium capture without extra energy consumption is highly attractive.
