HS journalism: Lions are 3-5 heading into tonight's game By Sam Hendricks, Lisbon senior LISBON — The Lisbon girls’ basketball team kicked off the 2018-19 season with two new coaches — head coach Diamond Boyd and assistant Bob Blythe. The Lions only had 14 girls this season, not enough to field a junior varsity team. But this means everyone suits up for varsity. There are only three seniors on the roster. “It is quality over quantity,” senior Sam Schrantz said.

By Mackenzie Moreland, Lisbon senior LISBON — It’s a cold winter’s night in Lisbon, but inside the Lions’ Den, school spirit runs warmly throughout the crowd thanks to the Lisbon High School pep band. Although the performances are much more relaxed and fun when compared to a concert or marching performance, these students still take their jobs seriously. They enjoy playing pop songs that get the crowd and student section involved.

By Gage McCoy, Lisbon senior LISBON — Lisbon has been known for its successful high school wrestling program of years, and it has strengthened that reputation the last two years. The Lions have won traditional state titles the past two years and won the state duals title in 2016. They were fourth in the state duals last year. The Lisbon Lions have begun their journey to win a state title three years in a row.
