The popular online forum Reddit started calling itself “the heart of the internet” last year. Now, brands are agreeing: Reddit is the place to be — online, at least. AI bots and large language models are continuously scraping the internet of its information, and Reddit has become a favorite “meal” of sorts. Brands and marketers have taken notice.

The Colorado River system provides water to over 40 million people across U.S. states, tribal nations, and Mexico. And it’s been in drought conditions since the year 2000. This year, Lake Mead is at record low levels. In an effort to stave off a water disaster, the Department of the Interior has announced new operating guidelines for the Colorado River system, which include a roughly 20% cut to California, Arizona, and Nevada’s water over the next two years.

During one of the hottest and driest summers on record, Greg Fisher, manager of demand planning at Denver Water, is doing everything possible to make sure people conserve water. Denver Water has put drought-time restrictions in place, requiring customers to only water their lawns twice a week. Denver Water’s target was to cut water use by 20% this year. So far, it has been more like 7%.
