Liz Borreli is a writer, a film critic and a sports enthusiast. She received her BA in Media Studies from CUNY Hunter College, where she wrote for two school papers, The Hunter Word and The Envoy. Liz has also contributed to the neighborhood paper the Greenpoint Gazette covering local issues in Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Exceptionally fast gait speed is associated with a lower risk for cognitive impairment, slower cognitive decline, and greater hippocampal volume in older adults, a new study showed. While gait speed usually declines with age, the researchers identified a group of older adults with a walking pace similar to that of people 30 years younger.
