Shepherd University was recognized this week for its more than 100 years of service to education in West Virginia. West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner visited Shepherd University Wednesday to award the school with a Centurion Award. “We see Shepherd University as being in the business of educating our students,” Warner said.

Berkeley Medical To Open New Unit Improving Emergency Care - West Virginia Public Broadcasting

The Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, part of the WVU Medicine system, is opening an Emergency Department Observation Unit. Officials say the unit will offer short-term care in a private, comfortable environment for patients who need extended treatment or monitoring but who don’t need to be fully admitted to the hospital.
