Rule 18 of the Impeachment rules, which bars parties to the case from commenting on the merits of the impeachment case of Vice President Sara Duterte, or the sub judice rule, should be strictly imposed on all parties, including the Vice President, House prosecutor Chel Diokno of Akbayan party-list said Friday.

The Office of the Ombudsman on Friday said that the government’s case against Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, his relative and former Undersecretary Adrian Bersamin of the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office, and Education Undersecretary Trygve Olaivar, whom state witness Roberto Bernardo accused of being involved in illegal budget insertions and kickbacks, would need more corroborating evidence.
