Mixed-Mode Stress Intensity Factor Evaluation via Thermoelastic Stress Analysis Including Non-Adiabatic Correction
1 Introduction Full-field strain measurement using thermoelastic stress analysis (TSA) is becoming a very cost-effective and practical approach for application in research and industry. This is especially so with advances in microbolometer technology, which removes the need for high-end, cooled infrared detectors [1-3]. In addition to strain measurement, TSA has been utilized for evaluation of the stress intensity factor (SIF) [2-10], as well as automated crack tracking [2, 3, 11].
